Keynote Speaker

Facing Testing and Assessment Issues in Higher Ed

NCTA is pleased to have Scott Jaschik as the keynote speaker for the 2011 NCTA annual conference. Mr. Jaschik, former editor (1999-2003) of The Chronicle of Higher Education, is one of the three founders of Inside Higher Ed and currently serves as its editor. His responsibilities include overseeing news content, opinion pieces, career advice, and other features. As a leading voice in higher education issues, he has had a number of articles published in major newspapers, is quoted regularly in publications, and serves as a mentor in the community college fellowship program of the Hechinger Institute on Education and the Media. He has also served as a judge or screener for a variety of journalism and editorial excellence awards.

The first half of Mr. Jaschik's address will focus on current trends in education that relate to testing and assessment; during that time, he will present some ideas for attendees to consider. The second half of the session will consist of a question and answer period.
